. Evaluate photographs for publication
. Talk with photographers regarding revision to photo
. Plan layout for photo
. Ensure deadlines are met
. Plan couverage of up and coming events and assign ork for the occasion
. Nagotiate payment to photographers
. Plan content by suggesting story ideas
. Take photographs and even write articles
. Must be able to criticize effectively

Pictures editor qualifications:

. Talent for photography and art so qualifications in this area is ideal
. A degree in photography is useful
. Experience in journalism is useful (bachelors degree)
. Computer course will be needed

Pictures editor experience:

. A journalistic background is appropriate
. A related photography arts discipline
. Several years of experience in photo journalism
. Experience working with other magazines
